Asia

Malaysia’s geography consists of a peninsular land known as West Malaysia and an Island east of it known as East Malaysia. Western Malaysia that borders Singapore & Thailand consists of 11 states and 2 federal territories which are  Kuala Lumpur the Capital of Malaysia and Putrajaya the Federal Administrative Capital of Malaysia. Eastern Malaysia that borders Kalimantan,Indonesia & Brunei Darussalam comprises the remaining 2 states and 1 federal territory Labuan the International Free Trade Zone of Malaysia.

Though it varies in number each state has their own versions of  mountains, beach, island , historical monuments, cultures, delicacy such as Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Indeginous Culture in East Sabah & Sarawak State,  Langkawi Archipelago in proximity of Kedah State, Tahan mountain of Pahang State, Port Dickson beach of Negeri Sembilan State, Redang & Tioman Island of Terengganu State, St. George Church of Penang State and much more.

Malaysia has a long history of migration to the land since before the 5th Century. Thus creating the South East Asia Version of a Melting Pot. Our population today is mainly a mix of four major ethnic groups, each with its own heritage, culture and tradition which are the Malay, Chinese,Indians and indigenous people. We also have other minority groups such as Europeans, Americans, Eurasians, Arabs, and Thai which may have  assimilated into the dominant groups. All ethnic groups have their own culture, food, language and festival.

There is also a freedom to worship their own religion even though Islam is the Official Religion of Malaysian Federation. There are religious sites available for all major religions such as Batu Caves (Hindu Temple in Selangor), Kek Lok Si(Buddhist Temple in Penang), Masjid Putra (Mosque in Putrajaya) and St. Peter's Church (Oldest Church in Melaka). Hence Malaysia has more than 130 living languages; with the official language being Bahasa Malaysia (Malay Language).
